(This is important, but it may not be enough)

I've learned to Let Go of

If you are new to my style of teaching, please take the time to read "Candie's Story".
Students are challenged to change their goals...
from trying to make something "good" or "pretty"
learning, playing, experimenting, risking, brainstorming, growing,
and developing a feeling of freedom with the techniques, materials, and tools.
Why is "Creative Enameling" so important to me?
Early in my enameling career, I reached a point where I felt stuck.
My enameling skills were "good enough", but I was missing something.
I didn't know what it was; I just knew that I didn't feel connected to what I was making.
I "retired" and pursued a Masters degree in Psychology in search of a new career
that might combine my different interests.
After completing my degree, I returned to making enamel jewelry and re-discovered my artistic passion.
But this time I had a completely unique approach and a fresh point of view.
What is "Creative Enameling"?
I taught myself to become a more creative and expressive enamel artist.
You can too!
- searching for the "right way", students discover "many possible ways".
- trying to find the "right answer", students search for "more questions".
- copying the teacher, students learn to design experiments to answer their own questions
- "learning to enamel", students use enameling
as a "way to learn about themselves, their world, and their art".
